Constantan is a copper nickel alloy, composed of 55% copper and 45% nickel (Cu55Ni45). Its characteristics are not easy to change its properties with temperature change, and its electrical resistivity is high. It has low resistivity temperature coefficient and medium resistivity (resistivity is 0.48)μ Ω·m)。

Constantan is suitable for use in AC circuits as precision resistance, sliding resistance, resistance strain gauge, etc. it can also be used as thermocouple and thermocouple compensation conductor material.
